Digitalization in the construction industry: the Eastern mine develops a fleet of unmanned dump trucks

The introduction of advanced technologies in the construction and mining industries is gaining momentum! The Eastern coal mine in Pavlodar region has become the first site in Kazakhstan to introduce unmanned haul trucks.

Today, three automated dump trucks are already operating at the Eurasian Energy Corporation (ERG) division, having transported over 1 million tons of rock mass in just a few months. By 2027, this figure is expected to reach 115 million tons.

The operation of unmanned equipment is monitored by a driver-operator and a service engineer. The former is responsible for controlling speed, movement trajectory, and safety regulations, while the latter oversees route planning, updating loading and unloading zones, and maintaining the robotic system.

The implementation of unmanned technology is part of ERG's Digital Strategy. The project involved specialists from the contractor organization Business & Technology Services, as well as IT experts from ERG. In the future, automated equipment will be deployed at other company mining sites.

The digitalization of processes and the integration of autonomous technology continue to reshape the construction industry. Stay updated with our news and join Eurasian Construction Technology ASTANA to be at the forefront of innovation!
